3 reasons to be baptized

1. To follow the examples set by Jesus

"One day Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee, and John baptized him in the Jordan River" (Mark 1:9).

2. Because Christ commands.

"Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:19-20).

3. It demonstrates that I really am a believer.

"...Many others in Corinth also heard Paul, became believers, and were baptized" (Acts 18:8).

what is the meaning of baptism?

1. It illustrates Christ's death and resurrection.

"For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead" (Colossians 2:12).

2. It illustrates my new life as a Christian.

When someone becomes a Christian, he or she becomes a new person inside. "The old life has passed away and a new life has begun!" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

who and when?

1. WHO SHOULD BE BAPTIZED?

Every person who has believed in Jesus.

"Those who believed what Peter said were baptized..." (Acts 2:41).

"Then Simon himself believed and was baptized" (Acts 8:13).

2.WHEN SHOULD I BE BAPTIZED?

As soon as you have believed! There is no reason to delay. As soon as you have decided to receive Christ into your life, you can, and should, be baptized. If you wait until you are "perfect," you'll never feel "good enough"! Baptism is a great time to invite your family and friends to share in this spiritual experience in your life.
